Today early in the morning, at 4.30, the police entered the house of Mard-e-Khuda and arrested his cousin brother Rana Rizwan. The police falsely accused Rana Rizwan of assassinating Mard-e-Khuda and put him in the police lock up. Within no time this news was spread in the Christian community. Afterwards his relatives along with some of the leaders of the Christian community and the advocates of WVIP, reached the police station and tried to get him free from the lock up as he was innocent and the real culprits were wandering free. The police refused to listen anything, then the advocates of WVIP filed a petition with urgent application in the High Court that police has become party with the culprits and they are harassing and arresting the innocent relatives of Mard-e-Khuda. The sitting judge immediately took the notice and directed the police to arrest the real culprits rather than innocent Christians.
Later in the evening the police released Rana Rizwan but the police and the local Muslims are still threatening the parents and relatives of Mard-e-Khuda that they are making false charges on the Muslims and if they would not withdraw the charges against the Muslims, they would have to face the consequences.
This is really pathetic that the real culprits have openly admitted their crime in public as well as in the police station but they are roaming about freely and putting the lives of other innocent Christians in trouble. This clearly indicates that the lives of Christians are not at all safe in Pakistan.
